About the work:
” – During an artist residency in Riga, the Heavenly Bodies project began. For a few days, the fit men’s bodies filled my Instagram feed
and I decided to contact some of them to see if I could film them outdoors during a training session.” – Josefina Malmegård.
Josefina Malmegård (b. 1989) is educated at Kungl. Stockholm School of Art (BFA, MFA). She has a background in feature films from the European Film College in Denmark and studied film theory. Malmegård has exhibited at i.a. Konstfrämjandet in Värmland, Gallery ID:I, Gävle Art Centre, CANDYLAND and, ISSP Gallery in Riga. She is also featured in the group exhibition “The Ring Beyond The Mat” at Konsthall 16, National Sports Museum.
