About the work:

“- This is an installation of miniatures consisting of a bench, stove, bed, bridge, and stairs made of glass. I believe today’s society lacks places where you can stop and rest your soul. I hope the piece provides calm and quiet moments where viewers can think about things they have long forgotten.” – Mafune Gonjo.

Mafune Gonjo (b.1984) is educated at Tama Art University (BFA) in Japan and Konstfack (MFA). Gonjo has had solo exhibitions in Sweden and Japan since 2010, most recently at Nässjö Konsthall. She regularly participates in group exhibitions and has exhibited in the USA, France, Germany, Great Britain, and Scandinavia. Her works are included in permanent collections at, among others, the National Museum in Stockholm, the Museum of American Glass in New Jersey, USA, the Toyama Glass Museum, and the Suwa Garasunosato Museum in Japan.
